Abstract

Projective transformations are elegant and fascinating modifications of space that are currently not well-explored in 3D modeling. We pursue a mathematically precise method of constructing reliefs, sculptures, walk-in installations, virtual reality environments, etc., that appear distorted, but still convey an experience of a self-consistent, unified space. To reach this goal, we will build an interactive plugin for Blender that allows the user to do projective transformations to her 3D mesh. As a test project we will build a paper model of Platonic solids undergoing a projective transformation.
