January 12, 2018 - The King Faisal International Prize honors excellence in Service to Islam, Islamic Studies, Arabic Language & Literature, Medicine, and Science. University of Oxford’s Professor Sir John M. Ball, a member of ICERM's Board of Trustees, was awarded the prize for Science for his fundamental and groundbreaking contributions to nonlinear partial differential equations, the calculus of variations, and dynamical systems. Congrats, Sir Ball!
Eli Grigsby Joins ICERM as Deputy Director
October 19, 2017 - ICERM is pleased to announce that Julia Elisenda (Eli) Grigsby is joining ICERM as a Deputy Director, effective January 1. She is a professor of mathematics at Boston College and a leading expert in low-dimensional topology, knot theory, and related homology theories. Eli has received a number of awards and recognitions, include the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE) in 2016.
Eli succeeds Homer Walker, who will complete 4 1/2 years of service as Deputy Director at the end of this year. We are most grateful for Homer's wise advice and careful management of numerous workshops and semester programs.
