NSF Director and RI Senator Visit ICERM and Brown

April 8, 2016 - National Science Foundation Director France Córdova and U.S. Sen. Jack Reed of Rhode Island joined students, faculty and administrators at Brown on April 8 for a firsthand look at some of the NSF-supported research happening at the University. Their visit kicked off with a tour of ICERM.

GirlsGetMath@ICERM Awarded AMS Epsilon Funds

February 17, 2016 - ICERM was pleased to learn that the American Mathematical Society (AMS) had awarded $5,000 to the institute from the AMS Epsilon Fund. This award will be used to support the 2016 GirlsGetMath@ICERM program, a summer day camp for Providence-area high school girls. Part of this award will be used to provide full scholarships to those who request assistance.

Congratulations to 2015 Summer@ICERM students

January 11, 2016 - January 22, 2016 - Chang He and Frank Yang were recognized at the 2016 Joint Mathematics Meeting with the "Outstanding Presentation" Award for their poster based on research conducted during Summer@ICERM 2015. Their winning poster, "Mixing Time in Robotic Explorations" (link to PDF of poster I will email) came about under the direction of Professor Yuliy Baryshnikov and Professor Maxim Arnold, the faculty organizers for ICERM's summer undergraduate research program.
